My First Story...

Till date you guys have seen me on writing argumentative topics only. So, how about a story now? Although it's my first story, I keep my fingers crossed that you all shall like it.
(I dedicate this very story to my best friend; I won't take his name though.)
So here it goes...

Lost...

It wasn't going to be easy he knew but somehow he had to confront her. He took a deep breath and walked into the room. "Mom, I... I mean, I have failed in Mathematics this term"- had just escaped from the feeble lips of the fourteen year old boy when the storm began outside. He had expected the storm to burst out inside the room too and it did. "What? What did you say? Huh! It was bound to happen. Now go and loiter the whole day with those rascals of your age! " , bellowed his mother.
The teenager walked away slowly. He had just stepped into the teenage world and was being subjected to various challenges of life. He was in a situation which he did not know how to deal with, but had none to share it with. He climbed up the staircase and went to the roof. The storm had stopped. It was quiet everywhere. The twinkling stars seemed to look down at this fourteen year old lad. Despite the bursting of the storm, the environment was hot. His heart was breaking. Nature seemed to commiserate with his state of mind. He went up to the parapet and looked down. Just twenty feet drop and it would be over. But, he was on the horn of a dilemma. Should he? Or, should he not? He turned around and looked back. He noticed the stairs and the rooms below. He remembered his childhood - how he had spent his days happily, with carefree attitude, with his mother, his dearest mother, without whom he was nothing. He stood up on the parapet and shouted to the world, "Please help me... I'm lost."
